Structuring Stories for Impact
You know the point you want to communicate and have a story to support it. But how do you organize the story so that it’s both meaningful and compelling? The answer is, “It depends.” The structure of your story is just as important as your content so ensuring that your structure reflects your intent matters. In this session, you’ll learn about classic story structures and how they influence the listener. Then, you’ll practice using an easy-to-apply structure that can be used for a variety of stories, especially stories that encourage learning and changes in performance.
After this learning experience, participants will be able to:
- Explain the role of story structure.
- Describe two popular methodologies for structuring stories.
- Apply a story structure designed to encourage change and performance.
